Hello guys,
I recently bought a hp pavilion Elite HPE.
It came with a gt 210 with which it works just fine. However when i tried putting a working gtx 1060 6gb (the psu is DPS-460DB-3 A, and has a 6 pin connector) the boot freezes at the hp logo on blue background and says Press the ESC key for Startup Menu. Keep in mind that all works perfectly with the gt 210,so all the Ram, hard drive etc. works totally fine.
I tried resetting the bios with the battery, changed the language so i assume i reset, However it is still stuck. I tried updating the bios to 7.15 (newest from 2011 :/) and still the same... The card is tested and works fine, also tried with a gtx 1070 same result... Please help!

Obviously pressing ESC doesnt work, when i press f10 to reach the bios it again says to press f10 and again it does not work.
The mobo is IPISB-CH.

1) Did you check the PC to see what PSU is in ? The PC has the 300W PSU, that means the 300W PSU does not have enough power to handle the gtx 1060, also for the gtx 1070. Keep in mind, the gtx1070 will draw more power than the gtx1060, and gtx1060 will draw more more more power than the gt210.

2) And even you think buy the new PSU, you should consider to the MB BIOS version is old, and if the MB does not have the newer version to support the newer GPU, like gtx1060 or gtx1070, you will have the same problem too.

3) You should read this from HP tech support too. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03653200

Recommend to find more info from online to see you can or can not update the GPU in your HP PC. If other people already to try, and they have the problem to upgrade the GPU, you should forget about it, because nothing you can do.

Yeah. The PSU is 460 watts with a 80+ certificate - more than enough to run the system with both 1060 and 1070,however, i have not considered no recent bios updates being an issue. It seems that thanks to HP not updating their bios drivers for this model, I am unable to run those new cards. Thanks!
