The discography of American land artist Jan Howard contains 17 studio albums, vii compilation albums, 51 singles, one box set, two other charted songs and 12 boosted album appearances. Originally a demo singer, she signed a recording contract with Challenge Records in 1958. In 1960, Howard collaborated with Wynn Stewart on the unmarried "Wrong Visitor". The same year, she had her first major hit with "The One You Sideslip Around With".[i] The single reached number xiii on the Billboard Hot C&W Sides chart.[two]

In 1962, Howard released her debut studio album entitled Sweet and Sentimental. Information technology was followed by the small-scale hit single, "I Wish I Was a Single Daughter Again". Howard had her biggest success subsequently signing with Decca Records in 1965.[i] Her 1966 single "Evil on Your Heed" became her biggest solo hitting, reaching number 5 on the Billboard country chart.[three] This was followed past "Bad Seed", which reached number 10 on the same nautical chart.[4] In September 1966, her 2nd studio album was issued called Jan Howard Sings Evil on Your Listen. The album peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.[five] Between 1966 and 1968, Decca released several albums and singles past Howard. This included This Is Jan Howard Country (1967), which became her highest-charting album, reaching number nine on the country albums chart.[6] This also included the single "My Son" (1968), which was originally a letter Howard wrote to her son in the Vietnam State of war. The song became a height 15 hit on the Billboard country songs nautical chart.[1]

During this time, she also collaborated with Pecker Anderson on several singles and studio releases. As a duet partnership, their single, "For Loving You", became Howard'southward start number one single on the Billboard state chart.[7] Anderson and Howard also released 4 studio albums together between 1967 and 1972. Amongst their albums was Bill and Jan (Or Jan and Bill) (1972), which peaked at number ix on the Billboard state albums chart.[8] Howard also released her last studio album with Decca in 1972 titled Beloved Is Like a Spinning Wheel. It reached number xl on the country albums chart.[ix] Following her departure, Howard recorded sporadically afterwards several personal setbacks. Howard's concluding chart appearance came in 1978 with "To Dearest a Rolling Stone". Howard continued to release studio albums into the 1980s, including Tainted Love (1984).[1]
